HOW A FLOCKED SURFACE IS CREATED

In the production of high quality cut flock, SwissFlock consistently puts its faith in high-tech. The fibres are cut with an unparalleled degree of precision and treated with an electrostatic finish. For flocking adhesive is applied by painting, spraying, screen printing, rolling or immersion methods to the material which is to be flocked. With the help of an electrostatic device, flock fibres are then «shot» into the adhesive which is still wet. In this process it is important that at least one tenth of the total length of the fibre is positioned in the adhesive. The product is then dried in the air or in an oven and finally any surplus and loose flock removed. The method of production guarantees the durability for which all SwissFlock products are known. Flock can be applied to practically any material – porous bases just need to be primed before the adhesive is applied. The thickness and length of the fibres are selected according to the appropriate purpose.
